Cooperative Program

Fairview Baptist Church is a humble supporter of the Cooperative Program (CP). CP is the tool used by the Southern Baptist Convention to fund missions and ministry around the world. As part of Fairview's committment to missions education, we provide this explanation of CP.

The Cooperative Program began in 1925. Every year since, churches in the SBC have pooled their resources to expand the Gospel around the world. Each church forwards its CP money the state Baptist Convention. The state then allocates some of that money to stay in the state so missions and ministry can be advanced on the state level. The state then forwards the remaining money to the SBC Executive Committee. The EC then disperses the funds to SBC entities as decided at the yearly SBC Annual meeting.

In plain English--We can do more together than we can alone!

This is break down of the CP funds as they are allocated after reaching the Southern Baptist Convention.
